Question: Assalamualaikum .Is it jaiz to look at the Ka'bah
whilst performing Salaah in Masjid Haraam, Makkah?
Answer: Fatwaa no. 051/07
It is not advisable to look at the Ka'bah while performing Salaah in the Haram of Makkah as this goes against the etiquettes of Salaah, because keeping your gaze lowered in Salaah is one of them. In fact some of the Fuqahaa have explicitly mentioned; and the gaze should be kept lowered in Salaah even though you are standing in front of the Ka'bah in Makkah.
